Kstew’s Public Apology

26 Jul

So everyone near a radio and internet  has probably heard about Kristen Stewart’s totally unnecessary public apology about cheating that, shockingly enough, was not directed towards anyone involved.

This was made weirder by the neverend comments at work “Did you hear about Kristen and Rob?”

Well… yes?  Is it really no better than high school gossip though?   All these people pretending like they know these two on an intimate level.  Especially if someone sees all their movies, watches all the interviews and reads all the magazines.  I mean, these are their actual personalities right?  (Writing real person fanfiction doesn’t count!!)

Okay, does it need to be said that these people are handled?  What everyone sees are not them, but the things that they are told to say, wear and do.  I’m not saying those two don’t love each other, but ignoring the fact that it is not really the public’s business how their relationship is going, as a celebrity, they may have many reasons to stay together or not.  I’m sure their agents are wondering if an indiscretion and a break up would affect the Twilight franchise, so even if the relationship was actually over months ago, wouldn’t they still be told to stay together?  (I am not saying they were having problems, I have no private insight to what goes on before closed doors)

I think what irritated me the most was reading about these “experts” who had a ton to say about who was to blame and what all this means.  No one ever asked the six involved.   The six?  Yes, the two involved in the makeout party, the boyfriend, the wife, and the children.  Those kids will know forever what happened between their parents.  Will they ever be  able to look up their parents on the internet without stumbling over the pictures or the twitter messages their mother sent out?  Probably not.

I understand people are interested but the level of interest seems scary and out of proportion.  Realistically she is twenty-two.  Yes, I understand not everyone acts like that at that age, but she’s also been (if the stories are to be believed) in a relationship for a few years now.  Personally, I wouldn’t have been in one at that age, I knew I wouldn’t have been able to put into it what it needed.  I wasn’t willing to put in the effort for a long term thing and loved every moment of it.  On the other hand, here is a guy who broke vows to family.  Yes, I understand people do it everywhere and more marriages don’t work than do, but if I take the time to make a vow, I hope I’ll have the strength to understand I am not taking it lightly and that my decisions will directly affect the future of the one I made the vow with and any other family I have included in this.

From a completely different angle, I think maybe it hits people so much because she is female and made the apology?  When was the last time anyone can remember a female apologizing for her behavior in such.  I wonder if she would have alienated her fan base by raising her middle finger and letting us know this wasn’t our business, but there was a part of me that would have loved to see this from her.

……. then again… I know it’s really really insensitive to the victims in this and I feel worse for them than anything being thrown at her.

I hope all parties involved get enough a chance to work this out in a way best for themselves, those they disappointed and loved.

I don’t know. The whole thing is disgusting. Apologies were only issued becuase they were caught. Twenty two or not, that is no excuse. Although I will say I am more pissed at the married guy who had the family. We always tend to blame the woman, as women we are supposed to know better, but really she wasn’t married with children HE WAS. WHAT A DICK. And she is stupid for getting caught up. At the end of the day, we all make mistakes, but when the paporazzi are constantly crawling up your ass why would you go makeout somewhere where you could be so easily seen??? I MEAN REALLY. We need to call a spade a spade and they are both selfish assholes for doing what they did.

well obviously, cheating, by nature is choosing what you want over your responsibilities.
yes they only apologized because they got caught, which is why it’s ridiculous. the death threats are ridiculous. I mean, there are actual people who are hurt by their actions. I thought it ridiculous that so much blame was laid at her feet. He was just as culpable, if not more so for disappointing his entire family.
also EW to the age difference. isn’t he technically old enough to be her dad?

    Anna Breslaw
Once upon a time, there was a princess who was in love with vampire, and then she met a guy with a wife and kids who said, “Let’s spin straw into gold,” and she was like, “OK.” But, alas, some people got pictures of the two of them doing some illicit straw-gold-spinning, and the vampire was upset by the pictures and ran for the comfort of Reese Witherspoon.

Meanwhile, Universal Studios still claims that Rupert Sanders is signed on to direct the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, which would once again star Kristen Stewart, but his wife Liberty Ross basically said, “Like fuck you are,” understandably. [Sugarscape, Radar Online]

Oh: Robert Pattinson is talking to K-Stew again. [Radar]
