Cosplayers Unite!

1 Jun

Everyone should watch this awesome cosplay video!

Greetings from The Middle of Nowhere

16 Jan

So blogging from a much different area, much different part of the country.  There are a lot of dirt roads, camo hats and trucks about.  No more just stopping by the store on the way home to pick something up.  No waking up in the morning and heading out to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel.  It’s quite surreal.

Anyway, I’m hoping that all had a good holiday season and did all the things they wanted to… Partied too hard, stayed in and relaxed, ate way too much awesome food, drank too much stuff that tasted great….

Like I mentioned earlier, during this time, I was kicking off the time with a move.  Oh… If only I had more time, because I ended up having to have people come in and help pack up the boxes.  The important books were all loving packed away and marked clearly.  Some of the other stuff, well, not so much.

In fact, I think the comment made (more than once) was, there are too many books and too many shoes.

Um…. excuse me while I spam pictures of both these beautiful things:

Lots of beautiful pics on this blog! click the pic to see more!

Of course, now I’m finding myself having to organize (AGAIN!) these beautiful things. *sigh* But at least I know where they are.  The utensils on the other hand are still missing as is my Inniskillen wine key.  While this made me sad, I lasted a two full days before being forced to go out and buy a new wine key.

Clicking on this picture will direct you to a NSFW link! Just a warning.

So while I’m still digging through my many, many boxes

While I am still learning all the crevices of my new home

While I am am catching up with technology

While Classic Who is in the background

While waiting for Warm Bodies to come out in theaters

While waiting to make new friends

I am keeping my books nearby.

And I will leave you with a Twilight Fanfic called Dirt Roads by winehoes.  It is a hilarious story about people living in the middle of nowhere being much more successful than I have been. Maybe I’m visiting all the wrong gas stations.

Trucker hats, possums, and dirt roads.

Got Crushed?

13 Jun

I have to admit that I waited on posting this because I found it super embaressing.  But then I realized, why have an anonymous blog if I can’t admit embaressing shit about myself??

Lmao @ crush. A crush is temporary.

This is 25 plus years, therefor its more than a crush, its LOVE.

Lol. I dunno that it’s weird. I mean maybe a little. You say weird, I say devoted.

 Who is your longest crush?

No… crush doesn’t mean temporary > it’s “an object of infatuation, usually temporary” >

but srsly, it’s wil wheaton. > starting in “stand by me” going on to Star Trek TNG, I even was totally into the movie “The Liar’s Club” because of him.

(which is apparently the movie that made him decide to quit acting) > you KNOW i fangirled about him on reddit, plus the Guild and big bang theory.

I realized that because I have been rewatching “The Guild”  and Codex says “stupid cute gamer boy”… yea i totally agreed.  I was watching the BTS video for the picture of Team Cawkes and he was wearing his wedding ring the whole time, which is.. sorry, hot.  being all loyal to his wife of umpteen years and whatnot. taking care of the kids…. > lol, i’m ridiculous, i know.  but i think it’s pretty cool that he’s a good family man too. > i could give you a really embaressing list of guy I had crushes on when I was younger… when i think about it… really embaressing i think…. but i continued with him as I got older.

I am sure a lot of this has to do with age as well, unlike other ones who I found out where super older than me once I could find out about them *cough* Mickey from the Monkees* cough*cough*

I dunno.. i find it really hard to find men hot based on looks alone.  I want them to be friendly or funny (funny gets me EVERY freaking time) or charming and intelligent….  i guess interesting…. on more than one level > heh > NO JUDGING!

Team Cawkes!! (as his kilt rises)

I’m sorry 😦 I knew you really wanted that

 don’t be depressed.

you’re awesome there’s no one else that I would love to have a pointless blog with 🙂 TBH, it really does cheer me up

so last night I had a greatdream.  we were in a Zombie Preparedness Camp heh (inspired by our convos??) one the bus ride there, yes we had to leave our cars and be bussed into a separate facility, guess who was there???? lol yes, my lifelong crush WW.  and we had a nice normal conversation where I called him a cute gamer boy, but in a totally not awkward way.  (cuz that’ll ever happen)

who i am around guys i dont like

I will reiterate that I did not want anything to happen, just was happy I had met him and he wasn’t douchey.  (nothing ruins a celeb crush like meeting them and them acting like an entitled ass) He was of course wearing his wedding ring (which i still think is awesome) and graciously accepted my compliment and that was it. (disclaimer:  I am fully aware that he may not be like this at all and am just projecting whatever I want in my head, but who cares?  something great about unrequited crushes on people I will never meet is that, none of it matters!  I can appreciate what I want and just leave it at that, but sorry…. back to the dream)

The facility was all glass except for the bedrooms and bathrooms, so not enough places to hide.  Pretty much we could always see out and anyone out could always see in.  Two people to a very small room, with bunk beds and the bathroom attached, no closets.

it looked kind of like this zombie bunker

Otherwise, the first night we were there we were all setting up the strategies for if/when “zombies” (camp workers dressed and acting like zombies) would breatk into out complex.  Since we were, of course, waiting for zombies, we were instead woken up in the middle of the night to deal with a were-car (yes i said were-car lol) and we had to distract it by dancing or it would “run us down”. …. it was an interesting dream.  I guess it was really to prepare us for any wierd supernatural event.

It was WAY better than the prequels. That being said I loved the prequels. But holy shit. Joss Whedon is so brilliant.    This made cabin in the woods look “ok”.   It was SO good.

LMAOOOO      that was different. I really liked those movies. They were entertaining.

THIS IS JOSS WHEDON. Michael Bay needs to take notes.

And again, I didn’t say those were the best movies I have ever seen.

It’s okay. I understand. But if you don’t see this on big screen you are doing yourself a giant disservice.  🙂

I didn’t love star trek.

I trusted you with cabin in the woods.

I got burned by the Matrix and never got it back

I loved it… until the last 10 minutes

And I remember being super annoyed and thinking I had wasted my money

Not that it wasn’t good, but it wasn’t “movie theatre” good

Just… rental good

oops wrong series

Kids, back in 2012, your aunt Robin wanted to do something more with her life. So she took her love of guns to an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D and fought alongside the Avengers.
Now, your Uncle Barney and I took it pretty hard; she was getting to spend a lot of time with another billionaire playboy, this guy named Tony Stark. Your Uncle Barney almost went crazy when he found out the guy had a metal suit.
“It shoots fireballs, Ted! He looks like a freakin’ storm trooper!”

Then your uncle Barney decided to fight back.

And Lily showed up and was like, “I’m in a Joss Whedon thing too.”

Wearing Fandom Proudly

3 Feb

by etsy user buymycrap

So just yesterday I was lamenting that I still didn’t have a Hunger Games shirt that I liked.  Today I see an update on merchandise for the upcoming film.  I saw the above and immediately thought of Lela.  I, myself, am partial to the bracelet they have.

And I started thinking… why does it need to be a shirt?  I know that’s the easiest way to wear something that supports your fandom, but it is certainly not the only way.  There are various ways to stamp your merch with designs and phrases of things you know and love.  Just a few posts ago, I mentioned owning robots on shoes, socks and ornaments, so why wasn’t I applying this to THG?

My cell phone case is Star Wars and I have various coffee mugs with characters on them, such as, the Avengers and Harry Potter.  A few years ago I bought a nice leather cuff bracelet with Jack and Sally on it as a gift and just this past Christmas, I found a Rainbow Brite reusable water bottle.  There are various toys and action figures around my home ranging from South Park characters, Spock (in a transporter tube that lights up!), Sherlock Holmes lego figurines, Cybermen, Futurama action figures…. My fridge is covered in various magnets, so there is no shortage of professing what I enjoy… in my home.  Its the stuff I want to wear out that shows it, althought the Reavers shirt from yesterday should have been offered in an apron.

So when I started scouring the internet for non-apparel related things, of course I was directed etsy mostly.  So, I’m going to include some links to other stuff I found, looking around the internet.  The links to the etsy users are under the pictures.

This user has a ton of different skins for iphones, nooks, kindles… all kinds too; Charlie Brown, Nintendo Controllers, Star Wars, vintage cameras, Minecraft.

So I was on etsy and found the above resin bracelet for the Weeping Angels which also linked to this gorgeous Hunger Games bracelet.

There are more bracelets on the website.   Definitely worth a look around!

How else do you show off your fandom??
